Prismacolor pencils and kill bill drawing!

Kill Bill

I have been wanting to buy this pencils for a few months now and finally got around to it a few weeks ago. Prismacolor premier pencils have quickly become some of the best if not the best colour pencils on the market. They definitely are the best colour pencils I have ever used. I normally stay away from colour pencils as they often don’t allow you to get smooth blends and vibrant colours, showing a lot of the paper underneath. However these pencils are completely different. The pencils are extremely smooth and waxy, almost similar to oil pastels but not to quite that extent.

I bought the 42 pencil set, and I’m glad I made that decision. These pencils work best by layering colours on top of each other. This helps in creating smooth blends and graduation in tone. This would be a lot harder to achieve with a smaller set as there are less colors for you to begin with making it hard to colour match when layering. So I would definitely say go for the 42 set or higher.

The only issue I have had so far is that due to the softness of the crayon they do break easily. I bought mine online from the U.S and it can almost be guaranteed that it was dropped and thrown around on its way over. I have read you can leave them in the sun and attempted to melt them back together although I haven’t tried this yet.

I cannot recommended these pencils enough! There is a learning curve involved like any new medium and I have only scratched the surface. But as soon as you pick them up you can see what these pencils are capable of.
