Commission piece of Dave Chappelle

I had a lot of fun with this commission piece. I don’t normally do a lot of portrait
work like this anymore. But I really enjoyed going back to my roots and
doing this one of the legendary Dave Chappelle.

Hand painted light globes for L’occitane!

A few weeks ago I worked on an awesome project for L’occitane’s new flag ship store on Little Collins street in Melbourne. The project was to paint a set of light globes that represent each fragrance in the product line. Here they are in store!

Hello everyone,

Happy new year! Its great to be back and kicking off the year with a new mural and video! This one was for The Royale Domain coffee shop in St Kilda, Melbourne. As always I had a lot of fun with this one, in the video I discuss doing commercial murals and how important they are. Enjoy!

Artist in residency program and painting!

I just wrapped up doing a artist in residency program at Beaconhills College. It really was a awesome opportunity and I cannot thank everyone involved enough! I have embedded a youtube video below with the first painting I completed  across the two weeks and it goes into depth exactly what I was doing. Enjoy!

Artist Block (With Time Lapse video)

Artist block… where to start. It’s kind of a weird thing, it’s frustration, anger, anxiousness. It’s kind of like all you want to do is create and put something on the page, but you feel like whatever you do is going to be irrelevant, you don’t have the skills to do so, you lack thought and direction.

You get stuck in a funk, a place that breeds monotony and stale thought, it’s kind of like limbo. For me the way out of this is to just throw something at the page and see what happens, with no pre judgment or expectations. In this case it’s a self portrait of me expressing what it feels like. It was about doing something different to what I normally paint, different style, different colours and now I’m ready for the next one.
